17 years and counting

Chris and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary on Sunday. We dated for 6 years before we got married so it has actually been closer to 23 years that we have been together. Here are a couple of pictures of our big day. I had a bunch of them scanned and put onto disk so they would be easier to access.
At rehearsal on Friday, May 3, 1991 - Meaghan Keville, me, Betsy, Susan, Lisa Youngstom, Lisa Massi and Holly Hicks Stanley at St. Patrick's Church, Corning.

Here are Daddy and I walking down the aisle.

The official wedding party photo at Corning Country Club. (from left:) Barney Croft, Steven Coons, Mike Connor, Eric Bennett, Curtis Connor, me, Chris, Colleen Reilly Lang, Holly Hicks Stanley, Betsy Reilly, Susan Reilly Croft, Lisa Massi and Lisa Youngstom Hess.

Our "official" wedding portrait - wow, we were pretty young looking, huh? (ps - that is the wedding dress and headpiece that my Aunt Annie O'Brien bought and wore in 1945, my Mom wore in 1946 and my sister, Colleen, wore in 1983)

This is just one of my favorite pictures from the day, taken while Chris & I were tossing the garter and bouquet. Guess who is 9?

Our little "baby" is 9 years old, and definitely NOT a baby anymore (he weighs 75 lbs). Max turned 9 on Friday, April 25th - and shared his birthday with his teacher, Mrs. Heaphy. At school, Max's aide, Mrs. LaSpina, provided ice cream cups to celebrate, he had his name read on the loud speaker during morning announcements and received a birthday bookmark from his Principal.
That evening we celebrated with his favorite meal of hotdogs and smiley fries and then Aunt Min and Uncle Billy came by for cupcakes and ice cream.

On Sunday we drove to Canandaigua to celebrate again with Uncle Curt, Aunt Mary, Mina, Will & Andee (who turned 2 on April 21st), Grandma & Grandpa.

Happy Birthday Max!!

Super Fun-Nastics

Bean bags on their heads!

On the balance beam with Ms. Nancy.

Stretching after class with Reilly, too!

Quinlan's "Super Fun-Nastics" class at Ontario Parks & Rec had Parent's Day recently. Luckily Max was off that day so he got to visit too. Quinlan and her friends work on their balance, coordination, fine-motor and large motor skills. She really enjoys her class and her teacher, Ms. Nancy. As usual, Reilly had to join in too! She follows Quinlan's lead and tries everything (or almost everything) that Quinlan does.

"Hey little girl, who cut your hair?"

Well, as much as I would like to blame this 'do (or don't) on a scissor-welding 5 year old, I can't. I am responsible for it!! Reilly wouldn't keep the barrettes in her hair and her bangs were totally out of control AND I couldn't see spending $10.00 on a haircut for her - so I did it myself. Unfortunately, she moved her head at the last second and this is what we got! Luckily, hair grows back and I won't make the same mistake next time. She IS still cute, though!

"Open the tunnel, here comes the choo-choo"

It is a little hard to see, but Quinlan is helping Reilly finish up her last few bites of strawberries. Reilly likes it when Quinlan plays the old "open the tunnel, open the hangar" game AND sometimes Quinlan creates a few of her own (which don't always make sense but Reilly likes them). What a great helper/big sister Quinlan is!!

TIckle Me Elmo

Reilly has found a new friend....... Max's Tickle Me Elmo. He's about 8 years old but he still works great. Reilly really enjoys when his whole body shakes while he's laughing. He is one of the bigger-sized ones, purchased by Grandma and Grandpa Connor in Feb. 2000. They sure don't make them like this anymore.

Lady bug, Lady bug

"Lady bug, Lady bug, fly away home" and take all your friends and relatives with you..... including spiders and funny little black gnats. Yuck. The kids have really enjoyed having all the lady bugs around and spend a lot of time following them and counting them. Reilly esp. likes to poke them to death with her little baby fingers (not purposely of course!). Mommy would just like them to go away!
