Disney - 2

It took until Friday but after Max tried out the water slide at our resort he LOVED it. Even the lifeguard was impressed that he did so well.

Reilly and Quinlan tried it first thing on Tuesday and were old pros by the end of the trip. The only drawback was that they had to climb the stairs to get to the top which really put a strain on little legs already tired from walking the parks.

Disney 2011

This was the name of our building at the Polynesian Resort at Disney World

The bus took us from the airport to our hotel. What a great way to travel. We didn't even have to get our bags..... they did it for us and delivered them to the room!

On our flight down. Non-stop.

Max got the window seat for his first flight.

In the Rochester Airport, 90 minutes early. We made it through security thanks to a tour the week prior by a very nice man named Sam Cooper. He showed us everything at the airport, even the fire station.

Update!

Finally. I finally brought the blog up to date. I didn't realize, until recently, that I was a whole year behind......but it has been a busy one. (Don't tell anyone but Max's photo albums are 5 years behind. Guess I have a project for this winter).
We lost my Dad in March. Something we had been expecting but it was still hard. We missed him a lot during the summer. It seemed odd not to have him on the porch at the lake. I kept expecting him to walk out of the bedroom in the morning, something I definitely took for granted for way too many years.
Max has been doing some adjusting. He is now in middle school (which I read somewhere is the most major adjustment a student has to make after entering Kindergarten). He is very involved at CDS (Continuing Developmental Services) where he has activities, goes on field trips and learns some coping skills. He went to school all summer - if you can call it that. Two days a week they went on outings to Roseland Water Park, SeaBreeze, bowling, the movies and to ride go carts. The girls and I hung out at home.(They were just a little jealous).
Quinlan is still busy, busy, busy. She is in K-Kids at school (Kiwanis Kids- which is a service group). We did a food drive and sorted food at FoodLink in Rochester. She is still dancing which means Thursdays AND Saturdays this year. Plus she still has to keep up with all her neighborhood activities. She is a busy girl.
Reilly has started Kindergarten, 1/2 day, afternoons. She gets on the bus at 11:45 and rides it home with Quinlan. She is practicing her patterns, letter sounds and sight words every chance she gets. There was a little bit of an adjustment period but things seem to be going more smoothly now. I spend my Thursday afternoons in Kindergarten putting my college degree to work cutting, tracing and logging children on and off the computer.
I wish all of this, plus Chris's long work weeks and season tickets to the Bill's games, were good reasons for not updating the blog, but they aren't. I just lost track of it and every time I thought of doing it, it seemed like a huge job, which it really wasn't. I promise to do better! I'm just thankful that you all are interested in our drama-less lives. Real people, doing real life. Maybe we could get on tv?? !! Thanks. Love to all. Ann

Father / Daughter Dance 2011

Here are Chris and the girls just before the Father / Daughter dance at State Road school. Reilly's first. They had fun. Quinlan said the punch was delicious!

Halloween - 2011

After a parade at State Road in the morning and afternoon, my train engineer, vampire and Minnie Mouse trick or treated around the neighborhood. They brought home lots of goodies (way too many!). Max was the same last year and Reilly was wearing one of Quinlan's old dance recital costumes. At least we got our money's worth out of that one!

Quinlan's Birthday -2011

Quinlan's birthday celebrations were a little more timely. First we celebrated with lunch at Red Robin with Uncle Curt, Aunt Mary, Mina, Will (whose birthday is October 30th), Andee and Tessa and Grandma and Grandpa Connor. Then they all came to our house for cake and presents. Quinlan had a Jack-O-Lantern cake and Will had strawberry. Then we celebrated with Quinlan's friends. After pizza and wings, cake and ice cream we enjoyed a screening of "Ghostbusters". Some of her friends also wore their costumes to the party. Everyone had fun!

Reilly's Birthday - Part 2 - Celebration with friends.

Blowing out the candles

OK, OK, so I won't earn "Mother of the Year" honors. Something always seemed to come up when it was time to plan Reilly's party with her little friends..... we were out of town, they were out of town, other things to do, places to go, people to see. We finally got together on Friday, October 21st at the Ontario, NY McDonalds. Reilly and her friends had Happy Meals and cupcakes and she got some great gifts. I promise that next year it will be a more timely celebration!

Catching up - Reilly's birthday ; July 2011

Reilly celebrated her birthday three times in July. Once at the lake with Uncle Barney, once with us at Red Robin and with cupcakes at home and once with the Connor relatives in Canandaigua. Nice, huh? But what about the party with her little friends? For that, she had to wait until October!

Catching up - Apple picking 2011

The kids asked if we could go pick apples. I said "ok" as there was an orchard not too far from our house. Actually, there are a LOT of them. We picked one on an absolutely beautiful, warm, sunny day and picked 10 pounds...... in about 20 minutes. Then we went home.

Catching up - First Day of School 2011

Max is ready to catch the bus to Willink Middle School. 6th grade?? Is it possible?

Quinlan steps into 3rd grade!!

Reilly and Dad waiting for the bus to Kindergarten. Good thing it is only 1/2 day, I might feel lonely otherwise.

catching up - Summer 2011

The Richardson family reunion at Harris Hill Park. The Seneca Park Zoo (we are members). Quinlan and Reilly on the float at "Poppy's" Lake. Reilly and Bree Hicks make "stone soup". Daddy and Reilly show their "stuff" at the Brookwood's pool where we are members. It was a great summer. Way too short though!

Catching up - Reilly

Reilly's pre-school birthday and graduation. It is on to Kindergarten in the fall.

catching up - June 2011

Mom and Max at the annual neighborhood end of school ice cream party.
Our very own "Safety" patrol member.
Quinlan in the Second grade end of the year musical.

Catching up - Quinlan's First Communion 2011

Quinlan celebrated her First Communion at our church, Holy Trinity. She looked beautiful and did a fantastic job reading the intercessions. We had a great party with family and friends after.
Congratulations Quinlan.

Catching up - Quinlan's dance recital 2011

Quinlan's class did a tap number and a ballet number. Same costume, added a tutu for the ballet dance. It was a great show.
