August 2010 and we are UP TO DATE!

Well, it has been a busy summer. I hope you enjoy the update to the blog. Soon I'll need to post Wildwood NJ vacation pictures (upcoming) and "back to school" pictures...... can you believe it is that time of year again?? Yeah!! I'm looking forward to just a little alone time once they are back to school. Max, however, never wants summer to end.
New baby cousin, Tessa Noelle Connor, was born on August 16th. We stopped by to see her and hold her last Sunday. I really wanted to bring her home with me but Andee said that I couldn't. Guess I'll just need to go visit more often to get my fill of "new-baby". Here is Max holding the new baby.
Quinlan and Reilly got a chance, too.

Mima and Poppy Reilly celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary with cake at Keuka Lake.

Quinlan, Max, Sydney and Aunt Susie husk some NY sweet corn for dinner Saturday night. It was really good. Quinlan had 2 pieces and wanted more. They did a pretty good job husking.... it is hard to get all that sticky corn silk off.

Sydney Reilly, Quinlan and Reilly have a snack on the back steps at "Poppy's Lake" - Keuka.

More Summer pictures

Our neighbors, the Marques family, got a new pool this summer. They have been very generous in allowing all the kids from this end of the neighborhood to go in it a lot. Here are Max and Quinlan hanging out. Reilly is probably in there somewhere.

Hanging at Keuka Lake with Grandma and Grandpa Connor. And the Canandiagua Connors (Curt, Mina, Will and Andee). Aunt Mary stayed home to rest up for the birth of their new baby.
Here is our "little fish" showing off her underwater swimming skills.

Reilly catches some rays in an Adirondack chair that is just her size. I never believed in those "swimmy" things until this year. They have really worked for us.

Reilly turns 4

We had a great party at home with all of Reilly's neighbor friends. Pizza, wings and cake were on the menu. Here is Reilly opening some of her really great gifts. Here is Reilly stuffing the "goodie bags". She thought they should have a tootsie pop and some silly bandz in them. Perfect, I guess.

We had a few tears just before cake. Not only was she completely worn out by the festivities but someone suggested that she might not get to eat the "big rose"..... so she cried. I took it off the cake and put it on her piece but in the end, it went into the trash. We had 2 cakes, Mickey Mouse and the chocolate one because there were so many people.

Reilly turns 4

Celebrating with Mina Connor and Grandma Connor in Canandaigua. Reilly had a Mickey Mouse cake, Mina had a 1/2 moon cookie and we made a special mini-sized cake for Grandma. Reilly opens her gifts from the Connor side of the family.

Celebrating at home with her new Zhu Zhu baby.

Reilly's actual birthday (7/12)was celebrated by going out to dinner at Red Robin and coming home for brownie cake.

Here are "the girls" celebrating Reilly's birthday with dinner at Red Robin. "The boys" - Daddy and Max - sat on the other side of the table.

July 2010

Here are a few more pictures from the Birthday Bash. Reilly and Mommy. Max shows off his QB form. Unfortunately, the neighbor's dog got ahold of this football and chewed it to bits. Oh well, time to get another ball.

Reilly, Quinlan and cousin Sydney Reilly give us their best pose. Quinlan is so happy to have Sydney and her brother Cameron to play with at the lake.

Cute face, huh?

This is where you can usually find Daddy and his girls when they are at Keuka Lake. The girls will stay in the water until their lips turn blue and still not admit to being cold.

July 2010

Mima held her annual "Birthday Bash" at Keuka Lake in July. There was even a pinata with "silly bands" in it. Here is Max taking his turn at trying to break it open. We tried the blindfold route but after it didn't break we just let them take turns hitting it. Reilly and her 2nd cousin, Benjamin Hicks, wait their turn.

Miss Quinlan has turned into quite the swimmer this summer. In less than 24 hours, she went from swimming only with a tube, to swimming w/o help, jumping in and going underwater.

Here is Reilly and her Aunt Trisha smiling for Emily and her new camera.

Last Day of School Celebrations - June 2010

After the kids got off the bus on the last day of school, the moms in our end of the neighborhood had a surprise for them..... an ice cream party. There was everything for a great sundae; ice cream, syrup, hot fudge, sprinkles, gummies, cookie pieces, whipped cream and cherries. Luckily the rain held off for most of the festivities. Here is Max enjoying his ice cream on the Jacob's front porch. L to R: Megan Wade, Ella Monfort, Ryan Wade, Reilly, Ryan Springer and Quinlan.

Here are some pictures of Reilly's last day of Pre-K3. They did a little skit, got their certificates and ate fruit salad that they had made 2 days before. OK, nobody ate the fruit salad but the goldfish crackers and cupcakes were yummy.
Mommy and Reilly.

Daddy won't be able to do this much longer. She is really getting to be a big girl.

Getting her certificate from Miss Kristin, her teacher.

Quinlan - Ginna Calendar Dinner

Quinlan's art teacher encouraged her students to do pictures and drawings with ideas and examples of recycling for a calendar project for the local nuclear power plant. Then all of the children who participated had their pictures submitted. Quinlan's was chosen for use in the calendar which is shipped to households all over Monroe County. We were invited to a dinner for all the winners at the Brookwoods Country Club.
Each winner received a certificate, tote bag full of crayons, markers, a disposable camera and, when they are completed, 10 copies of the calendar for family and friends. We are very proud of our little artist! Her picture says "Plant some trees in spring".

May 2010

We celebrated Ice Cream Social / Art Show at State Road. Here is Quinlan standing by her displayed artwork. Max and his picture showing perspective.

Face painting for all.

Reilly celebrates her birthday with her pre-school friends. They were studying butterflies so I picked up some beautiful cookies at Wegmans just for the occasion. She got a crown, got to be line-leader and went first for show and tell.

Our old neighbors, Josh and Dana, were expecting their first baby AND moving so it was time to bid the crib "farewell". Here is Reilly in her first night of sleeping in the "Tim-boy bed". Mima bought it for Tim to sleep in at her house when he was a very little boy. Then Max used it. Quinlan used it and now it is Reilly's turn. It was hard to say "good-bye" to the crib but at least it is being used for another baby. Good memories.
