The Rock

Here are Max, Reilly, Quinlan and Megan (from across the street) on Mommy's big rock. It was in the field out behind our house and I wanted it in the yard. The other day, the man on the bulldozer was nice enough to move it for me. I had it put in the corner of the backyard in a spot that had little or no grass. I think it is fun and the kids like it too.
Almost everyone in our neighborhood has a big rock somewhere in their lawn. There are tons of them around. I've got my eye on a few more, maybe.

Out and about

If you look closely you can see Max in the tree. Not my favorite place for him to be but he seems to enjoy being up there.
Here is Reilly on her new bike. Grandma and Grandpa Connor bought it for her as an early birthday present. She loves to sit on it and push herself around. Max gets a little concerned that she doesn't use the pedals yet and he tries to help her learn the "right" way to do it. Speaking of pedals, Chris took the training wheels off Max's bike the other day and he's riding his two-wheeler like a champ. It is as though he never had them on in the first place.

Playing in the sprinkler

Daddy got the sprinkler out for the kids when it was hot this week. Reilly wanted to like it but didn't..... she cried.

Life in Webster

Not a great picture but this is what we see many nights, from the window in the kitchen bump out, at sunset. We usually have spectacular sunsets over Lake Ontario and I have tried to take pictures to show it off but for some reason they don't really turn out great or do it any justice. Things have been busy here (as you can probably tell). We are doing a few things at school (Max and his roller skating and art show/ice cream social). Quinlan and Reilly and I have been attending some programs through Parks and Recreation to get out and keep busy. And, of course, we make frequent trips to Wegmans, Target and Lowes.
The last few weeks have been whirlwind weeks here at the house. We got our front landscape done, including my special tree, the extra piece of sidewalk finally was poured and the electrician came and put up ceiling light fixtures in the kid's rooms and ceiling fan in ours.
We went to Keuka Lake today and "the boys" got everything, but the boat, into the water. It was a bit breezy and cool but Reilly and Quinlan were in the water up to their knees and enjoying it until Reilly sat down and decided it was a little cold for her. Max spent the day in the rocks on the beach, digging and filling toy trucks until I had to call him up to go home. We can't wait for the opportunity to actually spend some time there and enjoy all it has to offer.
Chris has been working hard and getting to know the employees and customers at Lakeside. He is enjoying the challenge but isn't working sooooo hard that he won't take a day to go golfing with his boss (he says it is a company work outing but yeah, right).
We are all looking forward to warm weather and more busy days ahead. Max will be in school until 6/23 and then will begin summer camp after July 4th.
Enjoy the new pictures and keep in touch.

Art Show and Ice Cream Social

Here is Max showing off his first piece of artwork, the 3 color repeat rectangular picture above his head. Another "Max-terpiece"
Max and Quinlan enjoy their ice cream treats in cafetorium at State Road.
After ice cream Max and Quinlan got their faces painted, it was bugs all around! (Max had a ladybug and Quinlan had a rainbow caterpillar).

A new use for post-its?

Here is Reilly decorating our sofa with some post-it notes she took out of the drawer of my desk. She was a little frustrated with the fact that they weren't sticking very well....... but she kept trying. Finally, Quinlan (ever her mother's daughter) took over and found something that the post-its would actually stick to ........ REILLY! The thing I found most funny was that Reilly stood there and let Quinlan put the post-its on her.
Putting on the finishing post-its.

Q's new "do"

Quinlan got a "summer" hair cut recently. I asked for a "pixie" cut and this is what we got. It is so much easier to keep clean and combed. She even likes how it doesn't get tangled as much. I think it is adorable but she still thinks she looks like a boy. I will say it makes her look so much more "grown-up". We are patiently awaiting Kindergarten in the fall.

Max at school and play

Here is Max infront of the State Road Elementary Eagle - hand carved from a tree trunk and next to the front door at school.
And here is the front door!

Max tried out Mr. Burns' lawnmower in the back of Daddy's truck. Nope, not yet, but I'm awaiting the day I can turn that chore over to him. Not buying a riding mower yet, though.

Max tried roller-skating at his school with his friends and decided it was something he liked to do. So he talked his Daddy into buying him skates and pads and he's doing a really good job learning a new skill. Only a few falls, none serious.

Reilly at work and play

Mommy was in Corning for the afternoon and evening so Daddy had the kids. After Reilly played across the street with Meagan and Quinlan until he and Max got home, then in the dirt piles next door (at the new house) with Max and Quinlan until Daddy sprayed them with the hose and then got a bath, she was one worn out little girl. Here she is dozing in her booster chair during dinner. Unfortunately for Daddy she got a "second wind" after this snooze and gave him the business for a while before bed.
Just a cute picture of our ever-changing little "petunia".
Reilly "performs" on the stage at State Road Elementary school during the ice cream social. She is such a ham!
Reilly shows off her stacking skills (a block, a kalidiscope and one of Q's princesses). She loves to make towers of blocks, toys, pots & pans and whatever else she can get her hands on. She is in constant motion and wears me out!
