Quinlan's Dance Recital - 2010

The Canandaigua Connors joined us for the show and pizza afterwards.

Betsy, Seth, Jacob and Susie were there too, in between trips to visit Poppy.

Grandma and Grandpa Connor brought flowers to our little ballerina. They are dance recital veterans.

Combo 3 Class with Ms. Johnna (the teacher) and Ms. Jenna (the demonstrator)

Here she is at dress rehersal in all her recital fineness.

"If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gum drops........" (she smiled during the recital).

Quinlan and Megan Wade show their stuff during the finale.

Rochester Science & Discovery Center

Reilly and her pre-school friends went to the Rochester Science and Discovery Center on a field trip. Here are some of the highlights. The first was that we actually made it there on-time considering the fact that I had to drive downtown at 8:45 in the morning and had no idea where I was going or what real "traffic" is like and that is upstate NY real "traffic". You big city dwellers need to remember where I come from. This was REAL TRAFFIC.
Here they are digging for dinosaur bones in the pit. All the kids got goggles to wear and a brush to excivate with. All the little rubber "sand" pebbles ended up in her shoes and hair.
Showing off the archiologist look.
In the ball pit. Not sure what that was supposed to explain, but it was fun.

Roaring like a dinosaur with her friend Ryan in the dinosaur exhibit. These cute costumes were made using bathrobes and fake dino heads. They loved them.

Spring Break

In addition to staying overnight with Mima and Poppy, meeting Judi, Cameron and Sydney at Denison Park and having a birthday party, we stopped at McDonalds for lunch on our way home and got to play there too. Here are a few pictures of the fun. Quinlan even lost one of her teeth while going down the slide!

Max's Birthday(s)

Max turned 11 on April 25th. It hardly seems possible that it has been that long. He is really growing up. He got to celebrate his birthday 4 times, including some shared parties. They were all great and he got some great gifts too. Here he is with Andee celebrating together (her birthday was April 22nd) on May 1st. Andee was vacationing with her family so we had to wait to get together.
Here is Max on his actual birthday celebrating with Quinlan and Reilly. No, he didn't have brownie cake for breakfast, the girls celebrated by having a "jammie day".

Quinlan and Megan Wade help Max open his gifts and cards at his birthday party.

Here is the birthday boy, his guests and his sisters at his birthday party. It was a football themed party. I made the cake but, as always, I learned a lot making it and will do it a little different next time.

During Spring Break we travelled to Corning to hang out with Mima and Poppy Reilly and the Corning relatives for a few days. While we were there we had pizza and cake with Jacob and Seth Croft who actually have the same birthday (April 25th) as Max does. They are just 5 years older. While we were celebrating we found out that Lauren Reilly (Patrick's new bride) has the same birthday too! It is a family record of 4 birthdays on the same day edging out May 22nd which has 3 (Mima, Dick Keville and Paige Reilly Langswager).

Quinlan's Artwork

Every spring the Webster School District has a Community Arts Fair at one of the local highschools where everyone from the community can show off their talents. There is music, dance, a craft fair, food, performances by school groups, civic groups and churches. This year, Quinlan's artwork was chosen to be included. Not everyone at State Road got their artwork displayed. We were very proud of her.

Easter 2010

We had Grandma and Grandpa Connor, Uncle Curt, Aunt Mary, Mina, Will and Andee over for Easter dinner. The weather was perfect for Chris to practice his golf shots into the field behind the house and send the kids to retrieve the golf balls. Grandma and Grandpa brought baskets for the kids and the Easter Bunny visited during the night and left goodies for Max, Quinlan, Reilly and Chris and PEEPs for me. Yum. As you can tell by the last picture, poor Reilly was so tired she couldn't eat the peanut butter toast she asked for at dinner time. She was coming off some sort of sore throat and fever sickness and was just completely exhausted by our busy weekend.

Andee was hiding behind Mina's chair. She didn't want her picture taken.

Sooooooo tired.

Easter egg hunt

Our neighbor, Judy, decided to organize an Easter egg hunt for the kids at our end of Bannerwood Drive. Each parent provided a dozen plastic eggs filled with all sorts of trinkets, trash and candy and some of the parents hid them. The bigger kids were in Judy's yard and the younger kids were in another yard. The kids hung out in our backyard while the eggs were hidden and then ran across the street to claim their loot. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny afternoon and everyone had a great time.
After the hunt, everyone came to our house for pizza, wings and lots of good munchies and to hang out and enjoy each other's company. If the wind hadn't come up to hurricane force at around 8:00pm I think the party would have lasted all night! OK, not but we had to abandon the patio due to the wind which made everyone decide to go home.
Here are some pictures of my little egg hunters hard at work.
